| County Cork in the far south of the Irish Republic is best known for the Blarney castle near the city of Cork, the second largest city in the RoI. Legend says that eloquence (or, the Gift of the Gab) is bestowed on they who have "Kissed the Blarney Stone" by bending over backward at the top of the castle tower - quite daunting for some. In 1912, Queenstown on Cork Harbour was the last port of call for the Titanic before her ill-fated voyage to New York. County Tipperary is located in the province of Munster and is part of the central plain of Ireland. |
